Tomato sauce/ketchup preparation at home
tomato sauce is one of the universal recipes that go well with almost everything from western dishes to our traditional eastern culture.
It can be used as one of the ingredients in a recipe or side dishes and plays a great role in sandwiches, burger, pizzas, samosas, chats, idly, dosa, and many other dishes.
I love tomato sauce! and learned to prepare it. though it is the first time it turned out very well and tasted yummy and that's why I wanted to share my recipe of yummy sauce.
lets now see the recipe for the preparation of tomato sauce.
ingredients required
Red ripe tomatoes 1 kg
clove 2
cinnamon 1 inch
garlic 3 pods
small onion 1
ginger 1-inch piece
green chilli 1 (this can be modified as per your taste )
red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
salt
sugar 1 1/2 cups
vinegar (if you are storing for a longer period )
preparation:
wash and cut the tomatoes, prepare them.
now put cloves, cinnamon, garlic, onion, chilies, and ginger in a small white cloth and tie a knot.

remove the bag and squeeze the bag to extract the essence of the ingredients in the bag

now grind the tomatoes to make a fine tomato paste.

finely ground tomato pulp |
filter the pulp in a strainer |
now add the filtered pulp in a pan and cook it in low flame.
add salt, sugar, and vinegar and cook for few minutes in low flame.

add chili powder and mix well
add chilli powder |
Allow it to cool down and transfer the sauce in an airtight container and store well.
